Sarah Findle, Managing Editor — Home Expert
Ocean inspired colors — blues, sea foam, whitewashed — are most appealing. It’s me channeling my inner-Pisces. I have always had a love for the water!
Sarah dives right into social marketing and communications for clients like Kwikset and John Deere. While she’s counted on for her writing and media relations prowess, her background in design makes her even more valuable.
Christine Costa, Managing Editor – Sustainability Expert
I’m able to easily incorporate sustainability into my home décor because I’m a yard sale, Craigslist and flea market junkie. Reusing furniture and materials is just about the most sustainable approach to decorating. When I do invest in something new, I make sure the piece is durable and timeless. I want it to be in my life for years to come.
Christine manages marketing programs for clients in the sustainability, commercial and residential interiors and building industries. Her extensive knowledge of and passion for sustainability gives her clients a competitive edge when incorporating sustainability into their brands.
I live in a loft-style home, so the main living area that includes the family sitting area, kitchen, dining room and outdoor deck is my favorite place. I have access to the entertainment system, food and drink, and the outdoors…all from the couch.
Shawn has dedicated a 25-year career to the Home & Building industry, including client-side with Andersen Windows, Weather Shield Windows & Doors and Woodcraft Supply. Betty Lyn Eller
If I were an item of furniture or an accessory, I’d be a mirror. It can live in any room of the house and can always see what is happening. Much like the soul of a space, a mirror can also kick light and energy back into the room.
Betty Lyn’s 25-year career has taken her through all facets of the Home industry, including the consumer, manufacturing and agency sides of the business. She has worked with some of the nation’s top brands and publications including Hearst Magazine’s Country Living, O At Home, Drexel Heritage Furnishings and American Silk Mills.
“Today’s traditional” is likely what most would call my decorating style. I love to mix older pieces — things that have special family history like furniture, art, and books — with structured, well-made furniture that’ll take wear and tear from the boys who are in and out of our home.
For 15 years, McGavock has directed strategic planning, media relations, corporate communications and crisis planning for top Home & Building clients and brands. As IMRE’s public relations practice leader, she helps clients find new ways to resonate.
I would describe my design style as simple, understated and comfortable. I forgo ornamentation for clean lines and functionality. In terms of art and accessories, the more personal the better; items with stories make stronger contributions to a room.
As Chris puts it, the Home industry found him 17 years ago. He has worked both client-side and agency-side, representing companies like Kohler, Delta, Dal-Tile and many other well-known brands.
If I were an item of furniture or an accessory, I would be a kitchen table. It’s typically casual, in the most active room of the house, and hosts lots of people doing something they love – eating – all without the formality of the dining room.
For nearly 10 years, Elizabeth has helped leading clients in the Home & Building industry implement leader-quality communications plans. She proudly brings a trifecta of passion, organization and smart thinking to all of the projects she manages.
The family room is my favorite room. It’s a gathering place in all homes where families talk about their day, spend holidays together, watch their favorite movies and create memories.
Abby helps build brand awareness for her Home & Building clients through media relations, social PR and social marketing. She is known for her tenacity and spirited laugh (that one could only perfect at University of Kentucky).
