Hockey 300x163 Crosby’s Anticipated Return: The NHL Can Breathe Again.I would classify myself, at best, as a casual hockey fan.

Hoops and football have always been my expertise.  As I’ve grown older, I’ve come to appreciate the speed and theatrics of hockey, and have been sucked into the playoffs, thanks to exciting players and HD television – which have made the experience of watching hockey from your couch incredibly fun.

Sullinger e1320267235169 How the NBA Lockout will make the 2011 12 NCAA Basketball Must Watch TVWe knew it was coming.  We heard the whispers last summer that it was possible.  We read about the behind-the-scenes bickering, and the public posturing by NBA player representatives and owners.  We saw David Stern hold press conferences where he predicted the worse.

The point was finally driven home this week.  Tuesday was supposed to be the start of the NBA season.  After a season where the NBA enjoyed its most successful season since the Jordan years – and a full summer to come to a collective bargaining agreement resolution – NBA fans won’t see any November games this year. There’s a very real possibility that fans may not see the best basketball in the world for a very, very long time.
